Communication.\nElevate is more than an etiquette class-it’s a dynamic leadership and life-skills experience designed to help 10th -12th grade high school students develop the confidence and professionalism they need to succeed in school\, college\, careers\, and everyday life. \nThrough engaging social experiences\, hands-on activities\, and interactive workshops\, students learn the timeless skills that set exceptional young adults apart: \n\nProfessional introductions and confident handshakes \nStrong eye contact and conversation skills \nSocial and business etiquette \nAppropriate dress for different occasions \nDining etiquette and table manners \nRespect\, courtesy\, and personal presentation \nPoise in social and professional settings \n\nParents consistently tell us these are the skills they wish every young person learned before entering college and the workforce. Students were asking for a course that meets on multiple sessions to build stronger connections and networking skills. So\, will all that in mind\, we have created a new high school offering to meet those needs. Elevate\, is our new high school course\, which we know students will enjoy and parents will appreciate. \nWe have expanded our normal high school etiquette and training experience to form Elevate: A High School Cotillion & Professional Development Program\, that all 10th -12th grade students are sure to benefit from attending. Let’s Elevate Together! \n\nWhy Parents Will Appreciate Elevate\nToday’s students need more than academic success-they need the confidence to interview for scholarships\, network with mentors\, make lasting first impressions\, and navigate social situations with ease. \nElevate provides a welcoming environment where students build: \n\nSelf-confidence and independence \nLeadership and communication abilities \nSocial awareness and emotional intelligence \nProfessional habits that last a lifetime \n\nOur program combines traditional etiquette with modern professional development\, creating a practical experience that students actually enjoy.  \nElevate sessions will be held at various locations based on the topic and activity planned for each meeting. Semi-formal to Country Casual to embrace our theme!  \nThe season begins with an energetic social gathering designed to help students feel comfortable while building essential confidence skills. This theme was chosen by one of our high school students\, and we think it will be a fun way to start the discussion of our topic of dressing appropriately for different occasions! \nStudents will learn: \n\n\n\nProfessional introductions \nThe art of a confident handshake \nEye contact and body language \nConversation starters and active listening \nResponding to invitations and RSVP etiquette \nAppropriate dress for various types of occasions \nSports coat\, tie\, and bow tie etiquette \nPartner dancing basics including Cha-Cha\, Tango\, and Country Line Dancing \n\n\n\nTakeaway: Students leave with practical tools for making strong first impressions in school\, social settings\, interviews\, and future careers. \n\nSession Two: Museum Experience & Cultural Etiquette\nDate: October 22nd\, 2026\nLocation: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art\, 600 Museum Way\, Bentonville 72712\nTime: 5:00pm to 7:00pm\nDress Code: Casual\nStudents will enjoy a guided cultural tour experience while learning the etiquette and expectations associated with museums and community events. \n\n\n\nMuseum etiquette \nHow to engage with art and cultural experiences \nMaking the most of educational outings \nAppreciating opportunities for lifelong learning \nInteractive exploration of one of the region’s premier museums \n\n\n\nTakeaway: Students gain confidence navigating educational and cultural experiences. \n\nSession Three: Culinary Experience & Four-Course Dinner\nDate: Evening of November 14 or 15 (Final date and location to be announced soon )\nDuration: 2.5 Hours\nDress Code: Semi-Formal\nOur etiquette dinners are always a highlight experience!  Students will enjoy an elegant dining experience to practice fine dining skills and learn as we walk through multiple courses. \nStudents will master: \n\n\n\nFormal table settings \nNapkin and utensil etiquette \nFour-course dining procedures \nBeing an exceptional guest or host \nGrace and confidence in formal social settings \nConversation and courtesy during meals \n\n\n\nParents are often amazed at the transformation they see by the end of this event as students demonstrate poise\, confidence\, and polished manners. \n\nSession Four: Preparing for College Admissions & Building Your Personal Brand\nDate: Sunday\, January 10th\, 2027\nTime: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM\nLocation: Bentonville Community Center – Hickory Room\nDress Code: Casual\nToday’s students are building a personal brand whether they realize it or not. This interactive workshop helps participants understand how character\, communication\, and digital presence shape opportunities. We will then apply this information as we discuss what students can do to prepare for the college application process\, college tours\, test prep\, resume building discussions\, and how to start the college search process using data and student career interests\, as students that are engaged in the process have time to analyze what will be a best fit for their particular goals. \nTopics include: \n\n\n\nStarting the college search and determining what is important to you\nResume building: What all can go on my academic resume?\nCollege Tours: What to look for and ask\nHow to start researching colleges to look for a good fit\nBuilding self-confidence \nSocial media awareness and digital etiquette \nProfessional communication skills \nGoal setting and personal responsibility \nDeveloping a positive personal image \n\n\n\nTakeaway: Students discover how to present the best version of themselves both online and in person and then can apply that to the college search and application process. \n\nSession Five: Business Brunch & Career Readiness\nDate: Saturday\, March 6th\, 2027\nTime: 9:30am to Noon\nLocation: Bentonville Community Center – Redbud Room\nDress Code: Business Casual\nDesigned to prepare students for internships\, scholarships\, college interviews\, and future careers. \nTopics include: \n\n\n\nHow to write Elegant Thank you notes\nProfessional Emails\nBusiness Networking\nGetting a first job/being prepared to fill out the application\nInterview etiquette \nEmail and phone etiquette \nWorkplace professionalism and business etiquette\n\n\n\nTakeaway: Students build skills that immediately translate to academic and career success. \n\nSession Six: Season Finale Celebration\nWeekend of March 12th-14th (Date and location are being finalized.) DESCRIPTION:Our 7th\, 8th and 9th graders meet for a combined curriculum of etiquette topics and dance instruction. The topics and dances change every year for this group\, so that they are learning new things each season! Our Fall 2026 Cotillion season starts on Saturday\, September 12th. Fall 2026 Season dates are posted below. \nRegistration is open for Fall 2026. \nThis is great for students that have completed our sixth grade cotillion program\, but it is also appropriate for brand new students to BRJC to join in the fun as well. We always have new students in grades 7th -9th join us each season! \nIn our cotillion group for seventh\, eighth and ninth graders\, teens will learn all about Digital Etiquette\, Cell Phone Etiquette\, The Value of Friendships and Meaningful Conversations\, Good Sportmanship\, Everyday Manners\, and Museum Etiquette\, Enjoy a 4-Course Guided Table Manner Dinner\, and Dance Your Way to Confidence and much more with BRJC Cotillion. \nThe BRJC Cotillion program not only empowers your teen with essential social skills\, but it also provides the opportunity to master ballroom and line dancing\, a key aspect of navigating formal events with grace and confidence. Whether it’s attending a family dinner\, a birthday party\, or their first job interview\, these skills will help your teen succeed in any setting.  \nWe love teaching our advanced group of seventh\, eighth and ninth graders each season as we cover essential etiquette topics that benefit them now and in the future. Let’s take a look at how our program equips teens to shine in all situations. \nDigital Etiquette:\nStudents will learn how to communicate thoughfully and respexfully in today’s digital world. From social media and texting to email tone and online reputation\, students will discover how to navigate technology with confidence and maturity. \nCell Phone Etiquette:\nWe’ll explore how to use phones respecfullly and responsibly–when to keep them away\, how to engage fully in the moment\, and how to show courtesy in both personal and group settings. Cell phones are a part of our world\, but learning how and how not to use them in personal and business matters are important skills to gain. \nPerfecting Table Manners:\nTable manners are an essential part of any social gathering\, and BRJC Cotillion will help your teen feel comfortable at any dining event\, whether casual or formal. Here’s a glimpse of what your teen will master at our special guided 4-course semi-formal dinner: \n\nProper Silverware Usage: Learning how to use each utensil correctly\, from the soup spoon to the dessert spoon\, and knowing which silverware to use for each course.\nNapkin Etiquette: The importance of using a napkin appropriately\, placing it on their lap\, when you need to leave the table\, and at the end of the meal.\nCourse Transitions: How to transition smoothly through multiple courses at a formal dinner\, including when to wait to start eating\, how to pace themselves\, and when it’s appropriate to engage in conversation.\nEating with Confidence: Tips for chewing with the mouth closed\, holding utensil properly and cutting food easily\, and handling food with ease to avoid any awkward moments during meals.\nGracious Dining Behavior: How to express gratitude to the host\, participate in conversations during dinner\, and use polite manners in any dining situation.\n\nBallroom and Line Dance Instruction:\nSocial dancing is a fun and vital part of the Cotillion experience\, providing your teen with the opportunity to build confidence\, teamwork\, and coordination while enjoying themselves on the dance floor. Here’s what they’ll learn: \n\nBallroom Dance Basics: Teens will learn the fundamentals of traditional ballroom and Latin dances\, including the Tango\, Paso Doble\, and Jitterbug\, while also reviewing the Foxtrot\, Cha Cha Cha and Rumba. These classic dances are timeless and mastering them will help them navigate formal events with ease.\nLine Dance Fun: Students will also learn the latest line dances that are perfect for any casual gathering or event. These dances ensure that everyone has fun. \nBuilding Confidence through Dance: Dancing provides a chance for preteens to express themselves in a supportive\, fun environment. Is spring a better time for your student to join cotillion? Join us for a fun and engaging cotillion weekend designed just for current 5th and 6th graders in the spring of 2027! (Event weekend date will be posted in the fall\, but will be in late February or early March.) Our immersive spring cotillion in a weekend program focuses on essential social skills and etiquette that will empower any student to shine in any situation\, and is perfect for those with fall sports schedules or other busy schedules! \nRegistration will open later this Fall for our Spring combined 5th & 6th grade Cotillion Weekend Event. Spaces are limited\, so reserve your spot!  \nWhat will students learn?\n4-course Guided Etiquette Dinner:\nLearn the art of proper table manners while enjoying a delicious meal! Our guided etiquette dinner will make you feel confident and poised at any dining event. We will cover proper silverware placement\, American and Continental styles of dining\, napkin etiquette\, how to cut food properly\, and how to move from course to course with ease and so much more!\nEffective Communication Skills:\nDiscover how to express yourself with clarity and confidence\, making connections with ease. We will cover all the components of introductions to impress\, proper handshakes and the importance of eye contact and giving your full attention to others to make a great first impression.\nConfidence-Building Techniques:\nEngage in activities that enhance your self-esteem\, preparing you to navigate social situations like a pro! We have fun activities to learn and practice great party manners\, cover the details about invitations\, the importance of a timely rsvp\, and being a great party guest. Students will learn to write elegant thank you notes and properly address envelopes like a pro as we learn about the importance of showing gratitude towards others. Other etiquette topics such as common courtesies are all part of the learning too.\nBallroom and Line Dance Sessions:\nDance your heart out while practicing grace and poise! Our fun dance classes will help you connect with others on the dance floor. We will use our stretch breaks during our Saturday afternoon session as an opportunity to practice communication skills and learn some new dance steps together and then continue the fun with more lessons at our instructional dance event on Sunday afternoon. Students will start the learning with line dances to break the ice and then progress to learning some fun ballroom dances such as the Foxtrot and Cha Cha Cha and the classic Waltz!\nWho Can Join?\nThis Beginner Cotillion Weekend experience is for current 5th and 6th graders (Spring 2026) who are new to the cotillion experience.  \nWhy Attend?\nEquip yourself with the skills to navigate social situations with charm and confidence. Participants will enjoy interactive dining tutorials where they will learn the art of table manners while savoring a delicious meal.  \nAdditionally\, our ballroom dance and line dance session will provide an opportunity to practice grace and poise on the dance floor\, fostering social connections and lasting memories.  \nThis Cotillion weekend experience is for students currently in the 5th grade or 6th grade (Spring 2027) that are new to a cotillion experience.  \nCotillion Weekend Schedule: \n\nDate to come\, sample schedule. \n1:00pm to 5:00pm (Dressy Casual) Etiquette lessons\, Bentonville Community Center\, Hickory Room.\n 5:00pm to 6:00pm to transition to restaurant. Parents will pick-up students at 5:00pm at the Community Center and bring students to our restaurant for our dinner. Students will check-in at our local restaurant at 6:00pm.\nDate to come\, sample schedule. 6:00pm to 8:00pm (Dressy Casual) 4-course guided etiquette dinner.\nDate to come\, sample schedule: 2:00pm to 4:00pm (Casual attire) Ballroom dance\, Line Dance\, and Communication skills at Bentonville Community Center\, Hickory Room. Parents will drop-off students and then parents can come in to observe at 3:40pm to the end of our event\, so that we can share all about our cotillion weekend with you.\n\nSixth Grade Registration and Tuition\n\nTuition: $230 per student ($240 with included PayPal fees)\nDeposit: A non-refundable deposit of $115 ($120 with PayPal fees) along with an application is due at the time of student registration. The deposit counts towards the total tuition.\nRemaining Tuition Due: The remaining tuition balance is due by February 15th\, 2026 for SPRING 2026. The director will send a PayPal invoice in January to participants for the remaining tuition balance due.\n\nLate Registrations: Registrations on February 15th or later are considered late registrations and require a $25 late fee with the application. All late registrations require the full tuition payment and application at that time. Those with unpaid tuition will be sent an updated invoice the day after tuition is due with updated fees added.\n\nInvitations will be sent via email to registered participants. As spaces are available\, invitations will continue until we are full. In the event of uneven participant ratios\, a waitlist may be created.
