Here’s a glimpse into what they’ll learn:\nDining Etiquette:\nA Fun and Interactive Way to Master Table Manners! Preteens will learn the art of proper dining etiquette in a way that excites them! They’ll discover everything from how to know which silverware to use for each course to the difference between American and Continental dining styles. The best part? They’ll practice their skills at a delicious\, guided four-course dinner with their peers\, which always is a favorite experience. \nWhat to Expect:\n\nSilverware placement and handling\nNapkin etiquette\nTransitioning through courses\nHow to eat confidently in any dining setting\n\nEffective Communication Skills:\nMaster the Art of Connection and Confidence. Good manners require great communication skills. In this part of the program\, students will learn the importance of making a great first impression\, mastering proper handshakes\, and reading social cues. They’ll develop the skills to engage in meaningful conversations and form lasting connections. \nTopics Covered Include:\n\nProper introductions and eye contact\nHow to read and understand social cues\nHelpful conversation starters and keeping friendships strong\n\nConfidence-Building Techniques and Activities:\nOur comprehensive social skills lessons are designed to help teens build confidence\, develop strong interpersonal skills\, and understand the importance of respect and gratitude in all types of social interactions. At our events\, teens will learn the importance of sending timely invitations and RSVPs\, understanding various types of invitations\, and the key to being respectful guests at any gathering. They’ll also discover how to make a great impression through engaging conversation\, knowing the essentials of when and how to leave a party\, and mastering the art of graciously thanking their hosts. \nWe’ll cover essential life skills such as writing elegant thank-you notes\, addressing envelopes with care\, and understanding the difference between formal and informal correspondence. Teens will also gain insight into how expressing gratitude can build strong relationships and leave lasting positive impressions that lead to future invitations. Each session offers more than just learning dance steps-it combines etiquette training with ballroom and line dancing\, helping teens build confidence\, teamwork\, and effective social interaction. Teens will practice key social skills through partner trading\, introductions\, and conversation starters\, reinforcing the etiquette and communication tools they’ve learned. Parents will love knowing their teens are gaining these important life skills\, setting them up for success in both their personal and professional lives. \n\nOur Fall 2026 Sixth Grade Cotillion meets for four events on Saturday evenings from 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm at the Bentonville Community Center (BCC). Attire for these events will range from semi-formal to costume/casual depending on the event theme.  \nStudents in this group will also attend a 4-course guided etiquette dinner for 2.5 hours on an early Sunday evening at a local restaurant in October. DESCRIPTION:Our 7th\, 8th and 9th graders meet for a combined curriculum of etiquette topics and dance instruction. The topics and dances change every year for this group\, so that they are learning new things each season! Our Fall 2026 Cotillion season starts on Saturday\, September 12th. Fall 2026 Season dates are posted below. \nRegistration is open for Fall 2026. \nThis is great for students that have completed our sixth grade cotillion program\, but it is also appropriate for brand new students to BRJC to join in the fun as well. We always have new students in grades 7th -9th join us each season! \nIn our cotillion group for seventh\, eighth and ninth graders\, teens will learn all about Digital Etiquette\, Cell Phone Etiquette\, The Value of Friendships and Meaningful Conversations\, Good Sportmanship\, Everyday Manners\, and Museum Etiquette\, Enjoy a 4-Course Guided Table Manner Dinner\, and Dance Your Way to Confidence and much more with BRJC Cotillion. \nThe BRJC Cotillion program not only empowers your teen with essential social skills\, but it also provides the opportunity to master ballroom and line dancing\, a key aspect of navigating formal events with grace and confidence. Whether it’s attending a family dinner\, a birthday party\, or their first job interview\, these skills will help your teen succeed in any setting.  \nWe love teaching our advanced group of seventh\, eighth and ninth graders each season as we cover essential etiquette topics that benefit them now and in the future. Let’s take a look at how our program equips teens to shine in all situations. \nDigital Etiquette:\nStudents will learn how to communicate thoughfully and respexfully in today’s digital world. From social media and texting to email tone and online reputation\, students will discover how to navigate technology with confidence and maturity. \nCell Phone Etiquette:\nWe’ll explore how to use phones respecfullly and responsibly–when to keep them away\, how to engage fully in the moment\, and how to show courtesy in both personal and group settings. Cell phones are a part of our world\, but learning how and how not to use them in personal and business matters are important skills to gain. \nPerfecting Table Manners:\nTable manners are an essential part of any social gathering\, and BRJC Cotillion will help your teen feel comfortable at any dining event\, whether casual or formal. Here’s a glimpse of what your teen will master at our special guided 4-course semi-formal dinner: \n\nProper Silverware Usage: Learning how to use each utensil correctly\, from the soup spoon to the dessert spoon\, and knowing which silverware to use for each course.\nNapkin Etiquette: The importance of using a napkin appropriately\, placing it on their lap\, when you need to leave the table\, and at the end of the meal.\nCourse Transitions: How to transition smoothly through multiple courses at a formal dinner\, including when to wait to start eating\, how to pace themselves\, and when it’s appropriate to engage in conversation.\nEating with Confidence: Tips for chewing with the mouth closed\, holding utensil properly and cutting food easily\, and handling food with ease to avoid any awkward moments during meals.\nGracious Dining Behavior: How to express gratitude to the host\, participate in conversations during dinner\, and use polite manners in any dining situation.\n\nBallroom and Line Dance Instruction:\nSocial dancing is a fun and vital part of the Cotillion experience\, providing your teen with the opportunity to build confidence\, teamwork\, and coordination while enjoying themselves on the dance floor. For now\, please save the date\, and we’ll share an update with all participants once plans are confirmed. \n  \nSeventh\, Eighth and Ninth Combined Grades Registration and Tuition\n\nTuition: $230 per student ($240 with PayPal fees). \nDeposit: A non-refundable deposit of $115 ($120 with PayPal fees) along with an application is due at the time of student registration. The deposit counts towards the total tuition.\nRemaining Tuition Due: The remaining tuition balance is due by August 5\, 2026. The director will send a PayPal invoice in July to participants for the remaining balance due.\nLate Registrations: Registrations on August 5th or later are considered late registrations and require a $25 late fee with application. All late registrations require the full tuition payment and application at that time.\n\nInvitations will be sent via email to registered participants. As spaces are available\, invitations will continue through the summer of 2026. Some groups may fill well before our first event to be held on September 12\, 2026. In the event of uneven participant ratios\, a waitlist may be created. Students were asking for a course that meets on multiple sessions to build stronger connections and networking skills. So\, will all that in mind\, we have created a new high school offering to meet those needs. Elevate\, is our new high school course\, which we know students will enjoy and parents will appreciate. \nWe have expanded our normal high school etiquette and training experience to form Elevate: A High School Cotillion & Professional Development Program\, that all 10th -12th grade students are sure to benefit from attending. This interactive workshop helps participants understand how character\, communication\, and digital presence shape opportunities. We will then apply this information as we discuss what students can do to prepare for the college application process\, college tours\, test prep\, resume building discussions\, and how to start the college search process using data and student career interests\, as students that are engaged in the process have time to analyze what will be a best fit for their particular goals. \nTopics include: \n\n\n\nStarting the college search and determining what is important to you\nResume building: What all can go on my academic resume?\nCollege Tours: What to look for and ask\nHow to start researching colleges to look for a good fit\nBuilding self-confidence \nSocial media awareness and digital etiquette \nProfessional communication skills \nGoal setting and personal responsibility \nDeveloping a positive personal image \n\n\n\nTakeaway: Students discover how to present the best version of themselves both online and in person and then can apply that to the college search and application process. \n\nSession Five: Business Brunch & Career Readiness\nDate: Saturday\, March 6th\, 2027\nTime: 9:30am to Noon\nLocation: Bentonville Community Center – Redbud Room\nDress Code: Business Casual\nDesigned to prepare students for internships\, scholarships\, college interviews\, and future careers. \nTopics include: \n\n\n\nHow to write Elegant Thank you notes\nProfessional Emails\nBusiness Networking\nGetting a first job/being prepared to fill out the application\nInterview etiquette \nEmail and phone etiquette \nWorkplace professionalism and business etiquette\n\n\n\nTakeaway: Students build skills that immediately translate to academic and career success. \n\nSession Six: Season Finale Celebration\nWeekend of March 12th-14th (Date and location are being finalized.)
