 EIGHTH & NINTH GRADE COTILLION

Fall 2023
​Eighth and Ninth Grades Combined Class Time:
​Saturday evenings from 8:30pm to 9:45pm


​FALL 2023 SEASON Dates and Locations are Final and listed below.
Events 1-5 will meet at the Bentonville Community Center, located at 1101 SW Citizens Circle, Bentonville. 
The last event of the season, the Holly Ball, on November 4th
 will be held at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Ballroom, 301 SE Walton Blvd., Bentonville.



Fall 2023 applications opened on October 15, 2022 for
all New and Returning BRJC 8th and 9th grade students for the 2023 season.
We would love to have your student join us!


​Our policy is to strive to have a partner for every child.
Applicants that apply late may be on a waiting list until ratios even out.

​
Early application is recommended as acceptance is first applied, first accepted. 
The director will follow up with an email after your child's application and deposit is submitted. 
Please allow extra time for follow-up if applications are submitted over a weekend.

You will get an email receipt for the PayPal payments, but note the application does not send a receipt.
Emails will be sent in the order that applications are received. 

Registration must include an application and full tuition payment if applying after August 15th.
There are no refunds of any kind after August 15th. Deposits are non-refundable.

Review lessons for a missed event are available at the next event date.
​ There is no review lesson for the last event, the Holly Ball.

The eighth and ninth grade class is also invited to attend a 4-course instructional etiquette dinner,
​that will be held in late Winter/early Spring for a separate fee.
Students in those grades can attend the dinner in their 8th grade and 9th grade years.

**Parents only to attend the Holly Ball to chaperone.
Holly Ball will be at a different location due to size of attendance.
​Grandparents or younger siblings are not invited to the Holly Ball due to space. Secure your babysitters early.  ​
Dress code for parents for the Holly Ball is Formal, just like the students.

Attire for the cotillion events will vary for the grades, with most events being semi-formal. More specific information on appropriate attire for each event will be included on the  invitations.

Please note that students need to follow the dress code for each session. Parents attire for Ball (if parents attend) is the same as their child.

ATTIRE FOR BOYS

  • Semi-formal: suit or sport coat/slacks, any color buttoned-down shirt, tie/bow tie, loafer or oxford shoes
  • Casual: Nice jeans or slacks, no tie, tennis shoes are fine for casual/costume nights only
  • Costume: Nice jeans, no ties, tennis shoes are fine for casual/costume nights only
  • Formal (8th/9th grade Holly Ball): dark suit, tie or bow tie (tux optional), loafer or oxford shoes, boutonniere
  • Holly Ball: All boys 6th – 9th grade wear a boutonniere for Holly Ball only. Attire for 8th/9th grade is Formal for Holly Ball only.
 
ATTIRE FOR GIRLS

For girls in the older classes of 7th, 8th/9th grades, no shrug is required. Strapless dresses are only allowed for 8th/9th grade formal Holly Ball, but still not preferred. Strapless dresses are not allowed on other nights.

Details on purchasing white gloves through BRJC will be sent by email, and must be purchased ahead of time, to  be picked up at the dance. Cost for gloves is $7.00/pair.

  • Semi-formal: short dressy dresses, white gloves, shoes with back or strap on them, no strapless dresses allowed
  • Casual: Nice jeans, slacks or skirt, no gloves, tennis shoes are fine for casual/costume nights only
  • Costume: Nice jeans, no gloves, tennis shoes are fine for casual/costume nights only
  • Formal: (8th/9th grade Ball) long formal dress, long or short white gloves, shoes with back or strap on them
  • Holly Ball: All girls 6th – 9th grade wear corsages; most wear wrist corsages for Holly Ball only. Attire for 8th/9th grade is Formal for Holly Ball only.
